Went home winners
Well it finally happened. My tuesday night ultimate team "Friends with Benefits," (formerly the "Ligers") won our first game. That brings our record to an impressive 1 and 13. I'm new to this competitive thing, as I only participated peripherally in track during high school, and I found it very difficult to contain my excitment for our first win after the game. All of the guys on my team seemed happy, but also somewhat aloof. (Which unfortunetly could also be applied to the majority of my dating life). I don't really understand why everyone wasn't more excited. As a new group into a league of teams that have many seasons of experience, I'd say we broke a very important barrier. Maybe after a couple of seasons more of practice, we could actually be contenders in "B league".... or maybe just break 500. That would be just as momentous.
Anyways, maybe it's that I'm a girl, or maybe its because I'm one of the more emotionally driven people on the team (it's like riding a rollercoaster everyday without ever having to buy a ticket), or maybe I just lead a rather boring life focused a little to much on forehands and making a good cut, but I truly am proud that we won and am excited for our future. Beware fellow ultimate junkies...by Spring league of '07, "Friends with Benefits" might just win two in a season. Also beware of ever naming a team "Friends with Benefits" with a guy who will soon start dating your roommate. That's just confusing to people.
